Colourful Kids Room

Designing a children’s bedroom is one of my favourite types of brief. You can be unapologetically colourful and have heaps of fun with the accessories. However, it does require careful planning so that you’re not having to start over again in a few years when their tastes change.

This brief was to design 2 children’s bedrooms that each had their own identity, yet felt cohesive. We chose colours that were both playful but sophisticated. Energy and fun was added with textures, artwork and patterns that can be easily changed further down the line.

Whereas practical storage was key, it is important to remember that this is their space so it’s important that they have rooms surrounded by things that make them comfortable and showcase their personality. That doesn’t always lead to an Instagram worthy result, but I think we managed to achieve both in this case.
