My Story
From Corporate employee to solo entrepreneur
Hello, I’m Chris; artist, creator and founder of FOXYROKS: I design and make BEAUTIFUL, COOL and sometimes, USEFUL things from reclaimed and broken skateboards that would normally be destined for a life in landfill.
As a designer and creator, I love working with skateboard decks because of their unique contrast of vibrant colour, shapes, designs and awesome battle scars. No two decks are the same and it’s this diversity that creates a unique, tactile and hardwearing material.
What I am passionate about
My former years were immersed in 90’s graffiti culture, Hip-Hop, underground dance music and extreme sports. Later I trained to be a professional chef and I have worked creatively in kitchens all over the world and it’s this era of nostalgia that’s reflected in my work.
Life these days
I now live and work in the colourful City of Leicester with my beautiful partner Alex and 3 kids.
The process of sourcing boards alongside my creative and design work, has brought me many new connections to inspirational people and communities, for which I am extremely grateful. Perhaps my products and work will inspire the same in you.
